Be Photo Ready!

Hello Friends, Followers, and Rookies,

If you have reached the point where it’s time to take your headshot this is the blog for you! I know taking a headshot can be nerve racking because this can ultimately be the photo that’ll be on your website, and business cards. A lot of people will be seeing this photo, so you want to make sure you are prepared and ready to go. Here are some helpful tips to taking a flawless headshot.

1. Make sure you pick an outfit that fits your profession. This is a chance for you to show the world a glimpse of your personality.

2. Find a pose that’s comfortable. You want to look as relaxed and comfortable as you can in your picture because the more you can be yourself the better! Sometimes leaning on a wall or sitting on something can be helpful.

3. It’s all about the head tilt. Give your head a slight tilt, and your shoulders a slight turn – dropping your front shoulder will help slim you in your photo.

4. Use your eyes. How cliché I know, but your eyes are what people immediately look at when seeing a photo.

5. Elongate your neck. You can lengthen your neck by bringing your chin up and slightly extending your jaw out. This will give you a strong jawline.

6. Limit the makeup. Now a day there are so many retouching apps that there is no need to pile on the makeup. Especially if a professional is taking your picture they should do the retouching for you.

7. Do something with your hands. Give your hands something to do so they don’t look too awkward. Putting them in your pockets or using a prop will help you relax.

8. Get a professional photographer! This one is probably the most important. Some companies pay for a professional photographer to take headshot pictures for their employees. This makes a world of a difference in your headshot. You want quality!

Just remember, you are beautiful! Be confident in yourself, and let your inner beauty shine through!
